Update

Remember this post from, oh, two posts ago? Well a kindly French reader took me to school on my fave Mood find of all time:

In fact, it is Yves Saint-Laurent and you can look at the pictures I sent you showing the label YSL. I bought this kilt late 60s or beginning of 70s, I don't know exactly. It is really funny that I saw it and also that I remember having it in my closet.

Yippee! I feel like one of those freaks on "Antiques Roadshow" who just found out his tea caddy once belonged to Martha Washington. Still haven't discovered the piece of furniture it'll adorn, but this whole Atlantis situation is giving me hope. (Will they launch the Albert Hadley Sotheby's catalog already???).

More important: Pray for and donate to Japan! The horror.

  1. It reminds me of that cubist stuff covering Louis XVI oval backs in Givenchy's 18th century apartment.

  2. Now this is indeed exciting! This is better than Martha Washington! I think that the online catalogue is up now for the auction. I bought a hard copy last week but haven't received it yet.

  5. Thanks Jennifer and anon! Think I'm going uptown for a print copy -- definition of 'collector's item,' right??

Anon #1, I'm also desperate to own "The Givenchy Style." Amazon says I can buy it new for only $1500!

  6. It's funny how a piece of furniture or piece of clothing becomes way more popular just because someone famous owned it.
